+ I've been asked a number of times how it is that the Cybersalt Twitter updates are automatically appearing as status updates on my Facebook Account. It is very easy to do. Log in to your Facebook account and add the Twitter App to your Facebook. After that, all you need to do is set up the app with your Twitter account info and follow directions. The next time you update your Twitter status your Facebook Status will update too! |

Recently all of my computers have been runnning into problems running the automatic anti-virus definitions updates from AVG. I've used AVG's free antivirus program for a number years right after Norton Antivirus became such a hog of resources and bogged my computers down. I liked AVG because it was a simple, lightweight program that scanned for viruses. Then they added all kinds of other options that I didn't want and that I could not turn off. But, they still had my confidence so I stuck with them.
However, with this update problem arising I decided to give a different, free anti-virus program a try. I had been hearing about it for some time now from the technical support department of my web host (www.islandnet.com). They are excellent at helping their clients find practical, solid, and economical solutions to their internet needs and I know them well from the years they have been hosting my Cybersalt stuff as well as other sites that Cybersaltines have hosted through me (contact me if you are interested in web hosting).
The program is called Antivir and it is put out by Avira. If you are looking to try a different, free, and lightweight antivirus program, check them out. |

When I lost my Palm Treo 600 (just a few days before my contract expired) I was quite disappointed. Of all the electronic things I wanted to spend money - that I did not have on - my cell phone was dead last. I was going to dial that Treo right into the ground. But after not finding it for 2 weeks I needed to replace it and the cell phone covenience I was missing.
To make a long story short, I replaced my Treo with an 8 gig iPhone. Plain and simple: I love my iPhone and it's been awesome. However, soon after setting it up I did experience a significant disappointment. iTunes (the syncing software for the iPhone) would not run on Windows XP64 which was installed on my main PC. My work around at the time was simply to use my other PC (running XP) for iPhone syncing.
I am happy to report, however, that iTunes can run on XP64. I found a wonderful and simple set of instructions and links to make this happen. I am now able to sync and back up my iPhone using my computer with XP64 on it. I hope this link and referral will help anyone who was in the same boat as me.

If you are having problems with the font size on the Cybersalt sites or newsletters, here are some tips on how to make them appear larger on your computer system.
On PCs, while holding down the CTRL key, hit the "+" key. The font should enlarge each time you do that. Want to make the font smaller? Hold the CTRL key and hit the "-" key. For those of you with a mouse that has a scroll wheel on it, try holding the CTRL key and scrolling the wheel. That often changes the font size too.
If you are using a MAC, try the above - only replace "CTRL" with "command (or apple)".
If you use "Windows Live Mail" for reading your mail, the above methods will not work. If you have successfully resized the fonts in one of our newsletters, please e-mail us or comment below so we can let other subscribers know. |

GoogleMaps is great for looking up the location of places, but if you want to know the longitude and latitude of the place you are looking for, there is no obvious way to gather that info.
However, there is a way. When viewing the location you want co-ordinates for, makes sure it is in the dead center of the GoogleMap you are viewing and then place the following code in the address bar of your web browser:
javascript:void(prompt('',gApplication.getMap().getCenter()));
After you hit enter a box will pop up with the co-ordinates you want. |
