We go through so much turmoil at times and we wonder, "God, are you there? Have you forgotten me?" We don't meant to usurp his power, but we do by even thinking that He would leave us with our troubles, not holding to his promise to be with us.
Our problems might be with our spouse, our family, the job that is too stressful, or something beyond our control. We try 'our' best to make things right. But God is saying, Let me do it, and we aren't listening closely to Him.
I Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you . The devil is right there, peeping over your shoulder, listening intently to what you have to say. He hears you when you wonder where God is. This is thrilling him!! He things, AH, I have her right where I want her.......got to work fast!! And he gets busy trying to muddle your mind, take your eyes off God and what he will do for you. He gives you doubts that things will ever be right. He knows you know the Word, but he also knows that when a person feels let down, that person is not thinking straight, and usually doesn't give the Word a thought unless it's deep within him at that moment. Joshua 1:8 says for us to 'meditate day and night', and it will make our way prosperous and we will have great success. Oh, how the devil likes to try and make God out a liar. He uses the very vessel filled with the Spirit, when he can, to try and accomplish this. It's so important for us to get deep in the word, get it in our heart and mind, so when the devil comes at us {it's never with a pitchfork!}, we have something to give him back!! The WORD! The devil even tried to get Jesus to follow him and he [satan] would give Jesus power. But Jesus was prepared!
When satan taps you on the shoulder and tells you that things aren't looking good, or tries to tell you to doubt God, give him the Sword of the Spirit! Be ready to answer anything he has to tell you, according to the Word. Never try to answer him on your own.
When faced with obstacles you can't move, remember there is One in you that is far powerful than he that is in the world! You can put your full trust in Him, know that he is always there regardless of the time of day or night. He can handle the largest problem as good as the smallest. He is a never-changing God. He is the Omnipotent, Omnipresent,Omniscient God!
