Down the Path to the Well
--a thought to remember along the way

Take a good look at the virtual bookshelf we've been making--there's "Dear Dad" on the far left, "Distant Dad" on the FAR right--and nothing in the middle--until today! And is our bookshelf going to fill up fast. For I've got a Book of Books for you to add to that bookshelf...it's about and by an "awesome Dad," a "One-in-66" Bestseller, and you've guessed it. The Bible, God's Word, completes our bookshelf--and it will complete your LIFE!

You see, dads on earth, however dear or distant, are not enough. Only with God and the precepts of His Word in the middle of our lives will we know the full meaning of life--and beyond that, be able to successfully handle it. We can't do it on our own--but HE, in the center of our lives, helps us make a REAL storybook of our own life--a book with a wonderful ending, a book with a story to tell the world--all because we've welcomed HIM and HIS WORDS into our life.

In this Book we find the realities of life--sin, shame, deception, anger, hatred--AND love, joy, peace, forgiveness, grace, mercy and Truth, God's truth that never changes. It's the love of a Heavenly Father, who not only wrote a Book to tell us so, but who gave His Son to SHOW us so! And, with the books on our bookshelf in proper order, they'll spell "Dad," an AWESOME Heavenly Father who's dear to us, who's always there, and who puts our lives back together again...when HE'S there in the middle!

Let your Heavenly Father be a REAL "Dad" to you today...one who will be everything to you that no earthly father ever can be. He's there, He's available--and He's AWESOME! Believe it, worship Him, read His Word and have a wonderful day!

Happy Father's Day to you and your loved ones, wherever on Planet Earth you live! May His awesome love shine on you and your family this holiday weekend--and always!

"Lord, You are an awesome Heavenly Father! I love Your Word, that wonderful Book of Books that brings help and healing as I absorb it into my very life. Thank You for speaking to us--in words we can understand--in a Book that will outlive every book on earth. Give me a special touch from You and from that Word, this day, In Jesus' Name, Amen."
