Cybersalt News - July 23, 2020

chicken thursday july 2 kathieOh look, Chicken Thursday!

Thanks to Cybersaltine Mike A. for today's chicken picture.

Mike said that this chicken was outside his local food store in Miami, making it one brave chicken in my books. I mean, it's not like it is in front of a Kentucky Fried Chicken store, but just the same I'm impressed!

Enjoy the rest of today's mailing!

Favorite Flower

flower dyingWhile attending a marriage seminar on communication, Tom and his wife Peg listened to the instructor declare, "It is essential that husbands and wives know the things that are important to each other."

He addressed the men, "Can you describe your wife's favorite flower?"

Tom leaned over, touched his wife's arm gently and whispered, "Pillsbury All-Purpose, isn't it?"

The rest of the story is not pleasant.

Neighbors

flower cherry blossomsYou Know You Live in a Small Town When...

The "road hog" in front of you on Main Street is a farmer's combine.

The local phone book has only one yellow page.

Third Street is on the edge of town.

You leave your jacket on the back of the chair in the cafe, and when you go back the next day, it's still there, on the same chair.

You don't signal turns because everyone knows where you're going anyway.

No social events can be scheduled when the school gym floor is being varnished.

You call a wrong number and are supplied with the correct one.

Everyone knows all the news before it's published; residents read the hometown paper just to see whether the publisher got it right.

Featured Illustrations are items well suited for illustrating or inspiring a point in a sermon, speech, or devotional. Funny, moving, or perhaps even graphic, the point of them is the point you make with them.
