Cybersalt News - August 2, 2020

Sunday greetings everyone!

I am grateful to tell you that the family of the overseas pastor I mentioned last week is recovering from COVID. In the end his wife and all three or their children caught it, while he did not show/has not shown any symptoms. Than you for your concern and prayers for the family.

Today's video share is a quirky combination of the classical and the contemporary. It's a fun reminder of my late grandmother who became a fan of Star Trek AFTER she turned 80 years old!

This week Rev. and Mrs. James Snyder enjoy some dueling and lighthearted mind and task control with each other. You can read "A Family Stare off Competition" at:

Enjoy the rest of today's mailing!

Sister Cheer Up

women sistersMy sister and I are close, and that allows us to be honest with each other. One evening as I prepared for a date, I remarked, "I'm fat."

"No, you're not," she scolded.

"My hair is awful," I said.

"It's lovely," she encouraged.

"I've never looked worse," I whined.

And she said, "Yes, you have."

Head Knowledge

jewish manOn the Upper West Side of NYC lived an assimilated Jewish man who was now a very militant atheist. But he sent his son Morris to Trinity School because, despite its denominational roots, it's a great school and completely secular.

After a month, the boy came home and said casually, "By the way Dad, I learned what Trinity means! It means 'The Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.'"

The father could barely control his rage. He seized his son by the shoulders and declared, "Morris, I'm going to tell you something now and I want you never to forget it. Forget the Trinity business. 'There is only one God... and we don't believe in him!'"

Featured Illustrations are items well suited for illustrating or inspiring a point in a sermon, speech, or devotional. Funny, moving, or perhaps even graphic, the point of them is the point you make with them.
