While shopping one day last week, I was startled with the array of blazing color when I walked through the door. The pinks were very pink. Orange and yellow blouses were as bright as the sun shining that day. Lime green and turquoise blue could easily vie for the new spring grass and the waters of the ocean. They were absolutely gorgeous and I couldn't keep from gazing at them. I would run my hand across the fabric just to bring out the brilliant color even more.

Enjoying myself immensely, the time slipped away quickly. Hurriedly, with one more sweeping glance at all that beauty, I left the store wondering who had developed the idea to make ladies and men's clothes so colorful this spring.

Driving home that same day, I passed a blooming japonica bush. What a beautiful color of pink I remember thinking. In the very next block the native Asian shrub forsythia had opened its bright yellow blossoms for all the world to see. In the same yard someone was mowing their lime green grass that I had admired each time I passed. Arriving home turquoise waters were . . .

"God has made everything beautiful for its own time?"

Arriving home turquoise waters were sparkling from the lake in our cove.

Suddenly, I realized the gorgeous colors in the clothes that day were just duplications of God's beauty I viewed every time I drove in our neighborhood. With a song in my heart I remembered Ecclesiastes 3:11 tells us that God has made everything beautiful for its own time.

From the lovely clothes that could be purchased to the beauty of springtime, it all belonged to Him. It was easy to comprehend why the clothing industry had chosen the very colors our God has made so famous since earth began. He was just giving me another glimpse of the perfection of His creation from long ago and I loved it.

Even though there are days when we are overwhelmed with responsibilities and difficulties, we still can know God is continuing to accomplish His excellent purpose in our lives. We cannot see into the future, but we must trust Him now, knowing He is perfecting His own work here on earth. The correlation of colors from the dress shop to God's beautiful world, confirm to us that God makes everything beautiful for its own time, even in His mortal children.
