Down the Path to the Well--a thought to remember along the way

I'm not a bookshelf-maker, except for today and the rest of this week. No hammer, nails or wood necessary--this one is make-believe...our DADS are not! They're as real as they come--without them we wouldn't be here! We remember them this week--with pride or pain--depending on each person's subjective experiences and memories. We could each write a book, couldn't we!

...and THAT's where the bookshelf begins....with a book of letters entitled "Dear Dad." Now you've probably read the one, "Dear Abby," and you've maybe gotten the one, "Dear John," but this one you've never read--for YOU'RE going to write it, I hope! No one will ever read it but you--and HIM...He's the "dad" we call "Abba, Father," unlike any earthly father who loved and adored you--or who failed and forgot you.

Ever sit down and write Him before? He'd love to hear from you. Why not delight the heart of your Heavenly Father today by writing HIM a love note, a mini-chapter in that book that's just between you and Him. You can pour out your heart of thankfulness--and tears--and know HE will read it and "right" it too. There's nothing He cannot restore, rebuild or redeem--so let the words of that "book" flow from your heart to the heart of a Heavenly Father who knows and loves you, and wants to hear from you.

Your dad on earth may be the dearest--or most disappointing--dad you've ever known. Whatever your family story, remember, there's One above who guards and guides, who loves and listens, who welcomes and warms your heart--HE'S the "dearest Dad" of all! May you feel His love today, to which nothing on earth can compare! Now go write the first chapter of your book--you have alot of catching up to do, and the rest of your life to do it. Go ahead, write it, put it on the bookshelf of your life--and have a wonderful day!

Delight in a Word from the Well--a refreshing in the Water of His Word

Our Father in Heaven

"Our Father, who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name (Luke 11:2)."

Draw from the Well--a prayer for renewing strength for this day

"Lord, You are so dear to me. You've saved me, redeemed and cleansed me. You watch over me daily; You work in my life--You never give up on me. Thanks for being a wonderful Heavenly Father. Heal the hurts of those who have never known the true love of an earthly father. Reach out today, Lord--love them--AND their dads who need your love and forgiveness too. Hold us all in Your healing hands and heart this day. In Jesus' Name, Amen."
