"Mama"--a universal word that fits us all--whether you're a mom or not, you HAVE a mom and you HAVE a need - so sit up and listen to a contemporary testimony to God's wonderful power to hear and answer prayer!

"Grace"...a lovely word, a lovely lady. Grace, in lifelong missions ministry and Peggie's "adopted mama," just had a complete knee replacement.
During the painful recovery process, she lost one of her costly hearing aids. Too sick to worry, she chided her "adopted daughter" to stop her incessant search for the mini-missing object.
"Stop obsessing, Peggie. God will take care of it," she said, "leave it in His hands."

Well, in His hands, all things are safe, including missing hearing aids in a major hospital facility! But it was no where to be found, reported to "lost and found" and you guessed it...Peg kept worrying about it--it was a needle in a haystack, perhaps in the middle of a mountain of laundry! Yesterday this worried woman got a phone call from sweet saint Grace. "Lost and Found just called me," she said. "They found the hearing aid in the LAUNDRY. I TOLD you God would take care of it."

Needless to say, I was gently chided and majorly challenged to trust God for all MY needs. You see, HE needs no hearing aid...HE hears clearly and . . .

Needless to say, I was gently chided and majorly challenged to trust God for all MY needs. You see, HE needs no hearing aid...HE hears clearly and answers prayer specifically. Now why can't you and I trust Him--like Grace--who daily blesses my life??

1. She ministers grace to me. She "takes her burdens to the Lord and leaves them there." She exhibits the beauty of a godly life, full of grace and truth, led by God, and allowing His Spirit to minister grace to everyone she meets--do we??

2. She models Christianity to me. I see love, joy and peace in her face and in her life. She's a "little Jesus" to me as she exhibits what it truly means to live by the Book, to love the author and to demonstrate His likeness--do we??

3. She made me mess up my diet...You see, like the return of the Prodigal Son, the lost was found and we partied, full blast, with Baskin-Robbins ice cream. Never mind the calories--why not! It was a glorious answer to prayer. She trusted her mini-loss to a major God--she allowed Him to "worry" while she waited for the answer...can we?

Hey, Mama, He really DOES hear and answer prayer.
He misses not a whisper nor an impassioned cry.
He is our all-compassionate, all-hearing, all-answering God. I know--I learned it yesterday from a mama named Grace!

Scripture:
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6,7)."

Prayer: "Lord, I am sometimes so faithless--how in the world are You going to answer my big prayers, my little prayers, my any-kind prayers?
May I leave them all with You, the One who hears me,  answers me and in whom I can entrust my deepest heart cry. Help me to trust Your Word, to believe in the power of Your Name, and to know You have heard and You will answer--in YOUR time and in YOUR way. I trust you fully with my life.
In Jesus' Name, Amen."
