"Ask for the old paths and walk therein, and you shall find rest for your souls." Jeremiah 6:16

Jeremiah meant the old paths of faith in which the fathers of Israel had walked for 1,300 years.  The LORD spoke to His people Israel as if they stood at a crossroad with a choice to make. He told them to consider carefully where they were going. He encouraged them to follow "the good way," trusting Him as they had done in the past. But Israel refused to ask "where the good way is." The result was disaster.

Millions of people today make the same mistake. When faced with a decision of whether they will live for God or themselves, they choose the wrong way.  Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life".

Christian friends, We must receive Him as our Savior, and then as we travel through life we must continue to follow Him as LORD. His way is the "good way."

Thou art the Way; to Thee alone                                                                               From sin and death we flee;                                                                                              And he who would the Father seek                                                                          Must seek Him, LORD, by Thee.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - One may go wrong in many different directions but right in only one.
