"Whether in pretence or in truth, Christ is preached; and I do rejoice" Phil. 1:18

News of people proclaiming Christ finally reaches Paul in prison. He rejoices that Christ is on the lips of many people. It was true that some disagreed with Paul. Rivalry and envy crept into their hearts. Yet they proclaimed Christ as Savior from sin and death. They could not talk about Paul without mentioning his Gospel. Many did preach Christ in sincerity. They knew Paul was in prison for the defense of the Gospel.

In both cases, Paul finds great joy. He does not care what is said of him. He does care what is said of Christ. By friends and rival, Christ is proclaimed, and in this he finds joy.

Lips and lives of countless Christians proclaim Christ as Savior and LORD. From stately churches to portable tents call forth the freedom from sin in Jesus Christ. Christian workers share Christ in daily life. There are many missionaries that touch hopeless hearts with the power if His love. Also radio and TV bring Christ to the nations, and in this we rejoice.

Christian friends, Let's ask the Holy Spirit to give us an unselfish attitude. Our motives should be as pure as our gold.

Like a mighty army moves the church of God;                                    Brothers, we are treading where the saints have trod,                                We are not divided, all one body we,                                                                         One in hope and doctrine, one in charity.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY -The fruit of Christian unity grows out of our union with Christ.
