"And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of My hand." John 10:28
During the earthly ministry of Jesus many felt the touch of His hands. What were they like? they had known toil. They had worked with virgin timber in the carpenter shop in Nazareth. They were not soft hands. They were hands of a working man.
But they were gentle too. They rested on the heads of little children; they were laid on many a fevered brow; they touched the eyes of the blind, the ears of the deaf, the limbs of the lame, the tongues of the dumb, the remains of the dead. They were hands of compassion. They were strong hands. They were nailed to the cross, pierced and wounded and bleeding for our transgressions. However, on the day He ascended to heaven these hands were lifted to bless us as we travel through this world of sin. His abiding presence in our lives and our homes blesses us with endless benedictions to keep us on the narrow way of life. Then on the other side these hands shall be lifted to welcome us home to live in the eternal glory, where sin and death and sorrow cannot touch us.
Though Satan with his demon bands Should plague our souls with deep distress, Our God in Christ with nail-scarred hands Secures for us His righteousness.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - Our unknown future is secure in the hands of our all-knowing God.
