"To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good." 1 Cor. 12:7

Some of you have been asking about the difference between apostles and disciples. In our devotional for today was a very good answer.     We sometimes confuse apostles with disciples. Disciples are learners; apostles are sent out. Jesus had many disciples, from whom He appointed twelve apostles. These He ordained pastors, (or shepherds), who also ordained pastors for the Church. But not just apostles received the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. Acts makes a point of telling us that others, both men and women, were among those to whom the Holy Spirit was given.

The Spirit is given for every work that pleases God. One serves conspicuously in the front of the church; another stays after the service to count money or turn down the furnace. But serve because Jesus is their LORD, and their service is acceptable because of the forgiveness won by Christ and attested by the Spirit.

Christian friends, In Christ you are gifted. Use your gift for Him.Even the smallest work done for Christ has great value.                                            All Christians have been gifted                                                                                          By grace from God above,                                                                                         Equipped to build and strengthen                                                                                 The church in faith and love.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - A church can become a graveyard if its members bury their gifts.
