"Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and Thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by Thy name, O LORD God of hosts. Jer. 15:16 continued.

Do people ever ask you what verse has effected your life the most? I have personally changed mine several times as I grew closer to His Word. We must feast on IT like one devouring his last meal. When the Word of God is absent from our lives our heart is hungry. When we feast on the Bread of Life, our heart will overflow with joy.

I experience that reality of Scripture's power on a daily basis as I prepare the devotion for you. Every weekend in our churches we should see the power of the truth penetrate people's hearts, grip their minds, move their emotions, and best of all, engage their wills toward permanent change. Not only is God's Word the tool of our conversion, it is also the tool of our transformation. It confronts us and convicts us about our true need.

Once you have set apart time to be in God's Word you can personally testify to the power of God's truth. Invite it to penetrate your heart, driving indifference and complacency from your soul. Find time to be alone in His Word and invite God to change you and grip you with the reality that He is speaking to you. Ask Him to fill your heart with faith as you focus on His words and to accomplish His purpose in you as Isaiah 55:10 promises(look it up).

Christian friends, You can't teach what you don't know and you can't lead where you don't go. God is faithful to His Word and we who place ourselves in the flow of that unceasing work will be the continual benefactors. Do you want that kind of joy for yourself?

There are three ways you can feed your soul on God's Word: Dial in again on Monday to hear the rest.

Thy Word is a lamp to my feet,                                                                                            A light to my path alway                                                                                                        To guide and to save me from sin                                                                                And show me the heavenly way.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - We cannot know the heart of God unless we have a heart for God.
