"Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our LORD Jesus Christ."
Ephesians 5:20

The Apostle Paul urges us to give thanks always for all things. He apparently is asking the impossible. We can be thankful for some things, but certainly not for all.

That depends upon what we see. Our world is a perpetual miracle. The Word of God calls nature the open hand of God through which He satisfies the desire of every living thing. Blessings flow from it into our lives day by day.

God is ever at work for us, protecting and guiding us. Under His loving providence all things, even the tribulations, must work for good to them that love Him.

Let us, above all, note the . . .

Let us, above all, note the expression "in the name of our LORD Jesus Christ." If He had not died for us, we would be under the sentence of death. Our whole life would have remained a march toward hell.

Christian friends, because of His atoning sacrifice, we as believers are children of God. God's loving care is ever directed toward us. We are on the way to eternal life in heaven.

Praise God, from whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heavenly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost!  Amen
