This devotion is by request:  It was my confirmation verse.

"I beseech you, therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto  God, which is your reasonable service."

In the eleven chapters preceding this verse, the inspired Apostle unfolds the mercies of God in Christ Jesus. There is a depth and breadth that defies the imagination. In the eleven chapters preceding this verse, the inspired Apostle unfolds the mercies of God in Christ Jesus. There is a depth and breadth that defies the imagination. The writer brings his message to a head with the plea that we respond to these mercies by presenting our bodies a living sacrifice.

It cannot be otherwise in the life of him who believes that these mercies have redeemed him from sin, death, and the devil. Soul and body cannot live in separate spiritual and moral compartments. They cannot at the same time operate in two opposite worlds, one in the Kingdom of God and the other in the kingdom of the devil. The body is the instrument of the soul and reflects the spiritual condition of the soul.

Christian friends, You will make of the body a living sacrifice. Eyes, ears, tongue, hands, and feet, with their wide variety of possibilities, will be dedicated in a living service to Him whose own we have become by faith. Surrender is the tipping point. When we make that choice, God can use us to do great things for Him. Be willing to sacrifice your agenda for His greater purposes.

LORD, take my life and make it wholly Thine;
Fill my poor heart with Thy great love divine.
Take all my will, my passion, self and pride;
I now surrender, LORD, in me abide.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - Surrender becomes victory when we yield to God.
