Encouragement Illustrations

  • hand shakeThere is a special place in life,
    That needs my humble skill,
A certain job I'm meant to do,
Which no one else can fulfill.

    The time will be demanding,
And the pay is not too good
And yet I wouldn't change it
for a moment -- even if I could.

Friends are a very rare jewel, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, share a word of praise and they always open their hearts to us.

Show your friends how much you care.

  • fireA member of a certain church, who previously had been attending services regularly, suddenly stopped coming to church. After a few weeks, the Pastor went to visit. The Pastor found the man at home alone, sitting before a blazing fire.

Guessing the reason for his Pastor's visit, the man welcomed him, led him to a comfortable chair near the fireplace and waited. The pastor made himself at home but said nothing. In the grave silence, he contemplated the dance of the flames around the burning logs.

  • MORAL: God knows what He's doing for all of us. He is the potter, and we are His clay. He will mold us and make us, so that we may be made into a flawless piece of work to fulfill His good, pleasing, and perfect plan for us so LET IT REST!

meadowNo use in arguing with those who have no clue, or trying to make them understand your point of view.

    So let it rest!

No use in turning lively discussions into a heated one, or turning road rage into murder with a gun.

    So let it rest!

No use in exchanging hurtful words or insults, or letting your blood pressure skyrocket as a result!

    So let it rest!

  • theatreLife is a Theater...Invite Your Audience Carefully

Not everyone is healthy enough to have a front row seat in our lives. There are some people in your life that need to be loved from a DISTANCE.

It's amazing what you can accomplish when you let go of, or at least minimize your time with draining, negative, incompatible, not going anywhere relationships or friendships.

Observe the relationships around you. Pay close attention. Which ones lift and which ones lower? Which ones encourage and which ones discourage? Which ones are on a path of growth uphill and which ones are going downhill?

  • womanIf God brings you to it,

He will bring you through it.

    Happy moments, praise God.

    Difficult moments, seek God.

    Quiet moments, worship God.

    Painful moments, trust God.

    Every moment, thank God.

  • cowboy tackThe cowboy walked into the tack shop. "How much for a pair of spurs?" he asked the sales clerk.

    "Forty dollars."

The cowboy looked in his wallet, thought for a moment, then pulled out a twenty. "I'll take one spur."

"What'll you do with just one?" the clerk asked.

The cowboy replied, "I figger if I can get one side of the horse movin', the other side'll go too."

  • sunset2It isn't the thing you do, friend, it's the thing you leave undone,
Which gives you the bitter heartache, at the setting of the sun:
The tender words unspoken, to letter you did not write,
The flowers you might have sent, are your haunting ghosts at night.
