Weather Devotionals

  • rainI enjoy rain when it dances on the flowers on a hot summer afternoon invigorating the day and making everything smell fresh and clean.  That is what rain is supposed to do.  I believe it is found in section three, paragraph 17 of the rain contract.  But lately, I think Madame Rain has outdone herself and I wish she would relax and take a well deserved vacation.  I recommend the Sahara desert.

I was looking out the window watching the rain come down like a flood when the Gracious Mistress of the Parsonage came in and saw me.

  • icecreamtruckIt was just another day and I was indulging a carefree moment of complaining about the weather. "I can't believe it's so hot today," I muttered. I thought I was talking to myself but obviously, I had an audience.

Have you ever said or did something not realizing somebody was watching you?

Every time I am in a restaurant eating, I endeavor to remember there is an audience and try my very best not to spill the soup on my lap. Although, I must admit that that kind of lap dance always gets a vigorous round of applause from the audience. Don't ask me how I know.

  • rain puddleIt was in the middle of February during a very shivering cold time that the Gracious Mistress of the Parsonage said most dramatically, “I can’t wait for Spring. When in the world is Spring going to get here?”

As a veteran husband, I knew this was not a question for me to ponder or even to answer. Rather, it was something I needed to ignore completely. I learned these things down the years, which is why I have survived so many years. If silence is golden then I have reached those golden years of life.

I wouldn’t say this to her, but I was thinking the same thing myself. When is Spring ever going to get here?
