Oh look, Chicken Thursday!

A big shoutout to Cybersaltine, Linda Street-Ely. I was a treat to meet Linda in a Zoom call last week. You should check out her website at www.paperairplanepublishing.com

In other news, our daughter, son-in-law and grandson are here for a week long visit, so Grandma Cybersalt and I are thrilled to be spending time with them!

Enjoy the rest of today's mailing.

Vice President of Peas

phone man 1Tom was very excited about his promotion to Vice President of the company he worked for, and he kept bragging about it to his wife for weeks on end.

Finally she couldn't take it any longer, and told him, "Listen, it means nothing. They even have a vice president of peas at the grocery store!"

"Really?" he said.

Not sure if this was true or not, Tom decided to call the grocery store.

A clerk answered and Tom said, "Can I please talk to the Vice President of peas?"

The clerk replied, "Canned or frozen?"

Church Buses

bus short schoolOur local Catholic church has plans start a ministry similar to that used successfully by so many protestant churches.

They'll be bringing their parishioners to services by bus. They plan to call it "mass transit."

Start With Yourself

picture of a tombstoneThe following words were written on the tomb of an Anglican bishop in the crypts of Westminster Abbey:

When I was young and free and my imagination had no limits, I dreamed of changing the world. As I grew older and wiser, I discovered the world would not change, so I shortened my sights somewhat and decided to change only my country.

But it too seemed immovable.

As I grew into my twilight years, in one last desperate attempt, I settled for changing only family, those closest to me, but alas, they would have none of it.

And now as I lay on my deathbed, I suddenly realize if I had only changed myself first, then by example I would have changed my family.

From their inspiration and encouragement, I would then have been able to better my country and, who knows, I may have even changed the world.
