Games

Bubble Shooter

Admittedly, the objects in this game don't look too much like bubbles and they don't sound like them when they pop either. That's too bad because there is something satisfying about the sound of bubbles popping. Isn't that why people like popping bubble wrap - both in the real world and online?

If it was just making any old noise that thrilled people, you would find people just sitting there crinkling packing paper, rustling cardboard boxes, or affixing masking tape to their hair and screaming as they rip it off. But I digress.

Enjoy shooting these bubbles - especially if you like the sounds of lasers!

Color Game

Speaking of home decorating (What, you didn't just here me speaking of decorating?), it's hard enough to mix and match basic colors without tackling the subtle nuances of paint colors.

So here is a fun exercise to see how well you know the names of different colors (offered by one paint company anyway).   Just keep in mind that if you have your screen set to black and white, you aren't going to do very well.

Also, if anyone knows of the equivalent test for wallpaper, linoleum, or brickwork, please send it! I'm always looking for tests to fail.

Penguin-Throw

I'm not sure what yetis have against penguins, but I guess if you want to play baseball in a wintery location you do what you have to.  I don't think there are enough Yeti in the world to form a team of their own - let alone have their own professional baseball league.  And you have to know that if they were allowed to play with humans, their size would always make them vulnerable to accusations of steroid abuse.

Actually, the penguins don't seem to mind too much.  Maybe they put up with the abuse because that's the price it takes for a flightless bird to enjoy the freedom of flight.  The Wright brothers certainly had a more technical approach to mankind flying, but they certainly did not dress so formally for their air travel.

So, help the yeti and the penguin out.  One mouse click makes the penguin jump and a second click makes the yeti swing.

Penguin Arcade

Ice cubes don't kill people.  People with ice cubes kill people - well in this case they knock penguins back into the water.

This game is only for fun.  Please don't build your own ice cube weapon and then go on an expedition to the North Pole to shoot penguins.  First of all, there are no penguins at the North Pole and what with how greenhouse gases are now because of burning oil based fuels you don't want to make a wasted trip.

More importantly, you should not hurt penguins because they have a hard enough time as it is having to waddle to casual gatherings dressed in formal attire all the time.  Don't add insult to injury by shooting at them while they are on the way.

Puffins on the other hand - they're open season!

Gridlock Game

Here's a really fun game where you move the blocks around to open the path to slide the blue bar through the opening.  I don't know how many levels there are in this challenge, so just be careful in the event that there are enough to stretch your morning coffee break right through lunch and up to the time your boss calls you into the office to suggest its time you put your resume on monster.com and find a job as a professional game player.

Here's how to play:

Drag the blocks to move them left or right or up or down,
depending upon their orientation.
The object is to move the blueblock out through the opening on the right.
When you complete a level, level up and down buttons appear
appropriately under the level indicator.
All your progress is automatically saved.
