Oh look, Chicken Thursday!

dirty rug gets cleaned upOne of the signs that tells me I am tired and need a break is when I notice an increase in wanting to reply to some of the stupid things people post on social media. I'm not going to go into details because as my friend says to me, "Better Tim, not bitter Tim!" I know not much good comes from adding my sarcastic or trolling thoughts to the collection (as hilarious as they are, lol.)

I have also been abstaining from participating in the culture wars online. Like in any war, the objective of both sides is to beat the other side down to capitulation and then take them captive and control them. Most of the social battles our world is divided over are not going to be solved by conquering the other side. When those on both sides of an argument refuse to give even an inch, there can be no victories along the way in gaining common ground.

I would rather be 100 feet closer to someone who disagrees with me than forever 200 feet away from them. I am not arguing for compromising what one holds, I just think that by meeting in the middle, or some other point, the other side may want to travel further back with me.

Speaking of dirty stuff, today's video share is of a rug being cleaned. Don't ask me why, but I enjoyed watching "Dead Relatives Wish Was To Have This Rug Cleaned."

Sunday greetings, everyone.

cluttered shopI mentioned last weekend I was in Port Angeles, Washington, USA. The idea for that trip began when a client of mine from the UK told me he was travelling to Port Townsend, WA for a memorial service. It was nice to meet him.

For the rest of my time "over there" I stayed with my Good friend, Juan Ruiz, who also lives near Port Angeles. Some of the time we spent together involved Juan and I decluttering some of the things he had accumulated over 20 years in his tech business. During one of our sessions I disabled over 100 hard drives, to make the data on them unreadable, while he pulled apart some servers and other equipment.

That decluttering was a good warmup for doing the same thing for my business. While I almost have victory over clutter at my desk, the same cannot be said for my shop. In recent years I have really been noticing the energy drain that comes from clutter which slowly enables the things I own to begin to own me. But I am happy to say that in the last two days I have been making great progress. My shop is becoming emptier and the back of my pickup truck fuller in anticipation of a trip to the dump. I can even walk around in front of my work bench now and I am excited about finishing the job!

If you have a space in your home or workplace that has been messing with your peace of mind, why not take an hour and do a bit of tidying and throwing out? It might inspire you to do even more!

Oh look, Chicken Thursday!

ss rubiks cube juggling recordWe finally got some really nice weather at Cybersalt World Headquarters after navigating a cooler than normal spring. Our front and back lawns are much greener than they usually would be at this time of year. The weeds in our lawn are also greener, which is making it much easier to find them and remove them by hand.

I suppose I could just poison them, but I am actually enjoying getting lost in the process of laying on the ground, moving along weed by weed in a grassy meditation under the summer sky. I try not to spend too much time out there because I don't want my neighbours to think I am nuttier than they already do, lol.

Speaking of meditation, today's video share is of a young man who looks like he is in a full blown trance - but don't worry he just has a lot on his mind and in his hands!

Sunday greetings, everyone.

Straight of Juan de Fuca SunsetI've just returned from a couple of days in and around Port Angeles, Washington, USA. I was over there to meet a client from the UK who had travelled to attend a memorial service for a relative. I also got to spend time with a very good friend who lives over there as well.

The ferry I took back to Vancouver Island left shortly after sunset on what was easily the nicest day of the year so far! We even saw whales as we transited the straight.

Oh look, Chicken Thursday - and welcome to summer in the Northern Hemisphere. Hang in there, Southerners, the sun is on its way back!

Earthquake ContestThanks to Cybersaltine, D McCormick, who sent along this fun little chicken video which fits our Thursday theme very well! (Click here to watch)

Grandma Cybersalt and I are very much progressing in our recovery. Today I think I was as equally tired from staying up late catching up on work last night as I was from recovering from COVID! Why, in no time I'll be back to my normal tired, lol - though I am working on fixing that too!

Today's video share is of a fun competition to built structures that are earthquake resistant. Here's hoping the building you live in was not designed by most of these students!

Sunday greetings, everyone - and Happy Fathers Day for those of you celebrating that today.

Happy Fathers DayThank you so much for your kind words and prayers for Susan and I. We are recovering nicely. Today we went for a very nice walk and upon returning Susan cut the grass and I had a nice nap. So things are returning to normal, lol. Actually after my nap enjoyed a couple of hours, reclined in the back yard picking weeds out of grass.

Our youngest grandson's 1st birthday party is today. However, even though our quarantine period has just ended, out of precaution and sensitivity to others invited, Grandma Cybersalt and I are skipping. We are going to be joined by our son who is also skipping due to his ongoing recovery from a big dental surgery. It will be nice to spend some relaxed "down" time with him.

Today's video share is of a cool new way to ride on water! I have mixed feelings about this because it looks like lots of fun, but also a lot of work. Not shown in this video is how hard it is to get going on the Hydrofoiler XE-1.

Sunday greetings, everyone.

Today is another abbreviated mailing while we are travelling. Grandma Cybersalt has come down with a bug and slept most of the day yesterday. Please pray she will get better quickly so she can enjoy the rest of our journey.

In other news, I am wondering if any of you would be interested in doing some grammatical polishing on some devotionals a pastor friend of mine is going to write for the Cybersalt site. He is in Pakistan and speaks Urdu as his first language. While his English is better than my Urdu, he does need help from someone to polish what he has written without changing the meaning and intent. If you are interested in helping with this, please let me know - This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
