I'm a romanticist at heart and learned this one, as you did, years ago...a traditional bride's outfit includes "something old, something new, something borrowed and something _______--BLUE!" You remember it too! Good--for we're about to replay that old rhyme of "good fortune" for the Bride of Christ and the coming new year!

You see, we've already got the "Old" and the "New" - God's Word of truth, inspiration, comfort and direction - for our year's journey. Claim God's promises--they are never OLD-fashioned; they are NEW each day-and each year!

And the "borrowed"? No way can we borrow the burdens from tomorrow and load them onto our shoulders today.....now we may each need to borrow a friend's shoulder to cry on--and that's OK--but let's "take our burdens to the Lord and leave them there!"--past, present AND future!

And the "blue"? It may be as light blue as a cloudless sky--it may be as dark blue as a stormy heart. See life through heaven's eyes, not your own--and your year will be a BRIGHT blue--as bright as the promises of God! And oh yes...another idea....when you're blue this year, surf on over to the BLUE ROOM at Peggie's Place and I dare you to stay blue very long! Blue's not your hue when you're here, for where the Lord is, there is "fullness of joy"--and He is here!

Bride of Christ, you've got God's . . .

Bride of Christ, you've got God's OLD and NEW Testaments, a great Christian friend's borrowed shoulder, and a grand old blue home on the Web--march on into the New Year with confidence, victory and joy--we are ONE with Him and we're going to make it! Now believe it--get on that wedding dress, HIS robe of righteousness--and have a great day! (Guys...a dress is a bit much, I know - but the robe will be fine, I promise you...!!)

And so---"Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue"--we're ready, Lord...here comes Your BRIDE!

Scripture: "I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels, for as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth, so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations (Isaiah 61:10,11)."

Prayer: "Lord, thank You for giving Your life that You might choose and draw us, as a Bride, unto Yourself. We take Your Name, Your promises, Your Word, into the New Year, with confidence and strength, knowing You WILL be with us, Your Bride, all the way, In Jesus? Name, Amen."
