"We know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose."

Our life is like the dial of a clock. The short hand of this dial may be thought of as God's hand of discipline, and the long hand as the hand of mercy. Slowly and surely the hand of discipline must pass over our life. Our life is undergirded with the deep purpose of God to keep us in faith, prayer and humility. But the hand of mercy always passes over and over the hand of discipline. And there is a sixtyfold blessing showered down upon us for each stroke of trial. Let us remember above all that both hands are fastened to one secure point, the unchanging heart of a heavenly Father who delights in His children. When the cross of affliction strikes in our life, we should not think that something is wrong. Something is eminently right, God is working out His plan. He wants to give us something which we can receive only through affliction. All Christian experience proves that the best Christians are the ones who have been frequiently under the burden of a heavy cross.

Christian friends, Let us expect bright days and dark days in our life. We like the bright days better, but often the dark days are better for us. Whether the days be bright or dark, let us keep in mind that the sun is always there, it is only obscured by dark and stormy clouds. Christ is our Sun of righteousness; we know that we are dearly loved and that in bright and dark days there is a power of healing in His wings. When God says that all things work together for good to those who love Him, He means all things.

The trials we are going through
Can be misunderstood
Unless we realize that God
Works all things for our good.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - God may test our faith so we may trust His faithfulness.
