Paul confronts the erring Churches of Galatia. He holds nothing back, calling them foolish and bewitched. They were lacking in spiritual understanding. They were bewitched by the false teachers. Specifically they have been charmed by legalism. Legalism appeals to our ego as it places emphasis on us instead of Christ.
 
The Galatian believers had become fascinated by the false teachers' argument, almost as though they had . . .

The Galatian believers had become fascinated by the false teachers' argument, almost as though they had been bewitched. Now magic was common in Paul's day. Magicians used both optical illusions and Satan's power to perform miracles, and people were drawn into the magicans mysterious rites without recognizing their dangerious source.

Christian friends, We can be manipulated. so we must be careful about who or what influences us and stay close to our Father, the source of all that is good and right.

Be sure that those in whom you trust
Are led by God each day;
For if they let the devil guide,
They could lead you astray.
