"Charge them that are rich, that they do good, that they be rich in good works, laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come."

It is not the size of our estate that determines whether we shall be faithful or unfaithful in our stewardship. Only love and faith do that. To be faithful in our stewardship over one dollar is just as important as being faithful over ten thousand dollars. He that is faithful in little will also be faithful in much.

We do money an injustice when we say it is evil. It is evil only if it is under evil orders. Money has a tremendous power for good. It comes with the power of healing when it builds hospitals, nursing homes, orphanages etc, in which the . . .

It comes with the power of healing when it builds hospitals, nursing homes, orphanages etc, in which the light of Christ's Gospel brightens otherwise dark hours. Also when it is used for seminaries to train pastors and teachers, in churches and in church schools, it has tremendous power.

Money can take the wings of the morning and bring a light of the day into hearts when invested in a Christian radio and TV ministry. There is something divinely beautiful about having a LORD'S treasury into which we place a good proportion of the LORD'S gifts to us and from which we take offerings to uphold His good causes.

Christian friends, Contentment and generosity are the opposite of greed. As we learn to thank God for what we have and freely share it with others, we stop trying to fill the spiritual vacuum in our heart with things. When we love Jesus more than money and possessions, we find that He is the greatest treasure of our lives. We also discover that knowing Him is the source of genuine satisfaction.

God's riches fill up our supply
Whatever we may need,
So we can then be generous
And not controlled by greed.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - When we give ourselvs to the LORD, all other giving becomes easier. The best remedy for greed is generosity.
