"We are ambassadors for christ, for He hath made Him to be sin for us who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him."

There is a fountain filled with blood,
Drawn from Immanuel's veins,
And sinners plunged beneath that flood
Lose all their guilty stains.

Salvation through the shed blood of Christ is the central theme of the Holy Bible. And this doctrine is the heart of our hope. Every right and privilege given us results from this glorious truth. Through Christ's shed blood we have the right to be called children of God; through it we have the right to pray;  have the assurance of forgiveness;  and a claim on the heavenly mansions. This Lenten time and throughout life let us all praise the precious blood.

Being children of God has never been about blending in with other people. Following Him means to be like Him, to respond to life and relate to people as He did. It's risky and uncomfortable to be different. But that's what being an ambassador for Christ is all about. Representing the King is not just a calling; it's a great honor.

Christian friends, Our task is to lead people to the Savior so that they become citizens of the eternal Kingdom we represent. As we anticipate His return, we must take our assignment seriously. It's a great privilege to have our citizenship in heaven. It's an equally great obligation to be an ambassador of that heavenly kingdom.

Let us go forth, as called of God,
Redeemed by Jesus' precious blood;
His love to show, His life to live,
His message speak, His mercy give.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - Our citizenship in heaven defines our duties here on earth.
