"SANCTITY OF LIFE SUNDAY"

"This is the day the LORD hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it."

Isaiah 49:15,16
Jeremiah 1:5
Luke 18:15-17
Psalm 139:13-15

One of the basic issues of life before us is legalized abortion. The Sanctity of Life has to do not only with abortion, but with every issue of life. We are dealing not only with a legal matter but a moral and spiritual question.

It is quite clear that the Bible is on the side of life. Speaking to Jeremiah, God said, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; and in Ps. 139 we hear, "Thou didst form my inward parts, and Thou didst knit me together in my mother's womb. There is NO question about the fact that . . .

There is NO question about the fact that the Supreme Court could not have told Elizabeth that her six month old fetus was anything but human when the baby jumped in her womb at the time she met Mary, who was to be the mother of Jesus.

It will take more than new laws to deal with the problems of mankind. There is no substitute for commitment to God and for living and keeping His commandments out of love to God who first loved us enough to sacrifice His son in our place for our sins. There is a necessity for respecting the Sanctity of Life with which we have been endowed by God Himself. By the grace of God in Jesus Christ all of us are offered the gracious apportunity to enjoy the Sanctity of Life with His blessing, forgiveness and the promise of His glory.  Let us remember  God's commandment: "Thou shall not kill."

LORD, thank You for the gift of Life
And all that You have given,
We ask for grace to trust You when
Unborn lives are threatened.

PRAY - LORD God, Creator and Redeemer of human life, open our eyes to the sanctity of our lives in Your sight, and help us to live in the assurance of Yor forgiveness with the healty regard for life and a warm compassion for our fellowmen.  Amen
