"So the spirit took me up and brought me into the inner court; and behold, the glory of the LORD filled the temple."
- Ezekiel 43:5

When the tabernacle in the wilderness was completed, "then the cloud covered the tent of meeting and the glory of the LORD filled the temple." At the dedication of Solomon's Temple "it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the Holy Place, the glory of the LORD filled the house of the LORD." Ezekiel in vision sees the rebuilt Temple. The Spirit ushers him into the inner court, "and, behold, the glory of the LORD fill the temple."

Some of us today worship in beautiful structures, heirs of the grandeur of the past. Some of us gather in simple frame buildings. Still others meet in a public hall or home.  If God's Word is preached and . . .

Some of us today worship in beautiful structures, heirs of the grandeur of the past. Some of us gather in simple frame buildings. Still others meet in a public hall or home.  If God's Word is preached and His Sacraments are administered, God in His redeeming glory is there. The most unassuming building is transformed into a place that is hallowed.

Christian friends,  We shall then her the voice of God. It will be "like a noise of many waters." It will speak of His holiness, of man's fall, of the story of redemption through Christ, of a life that is justified and sanctified through the power of the Holy Spirit, of peace, of joy, of a hope that casts its radiance upon life's pilgrimage until we enter into the fullness of the blessings for which Jesus died. May Thy glory meet our eyes while we in Thy house appear! Here afford us, LORD, a taste of our everlasting feast.

The glory of God
In the face of His Son
To us who behold Him
Is heaven begun.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - The world's greatest glory is but a spark compared to the radiance of God's glory.
