If you remember this Psalm was from last Sunday's lesson. Nothing in all the world gives us greater happiness than continually depending on God to lead us through life. To wait on Him for His direction and stay true to Him in every situation is the only way to find peace in times of perplexity, loneliness, and distress. As Christians, we need to develop a childlike trust that rests in the all-sufficient wisdom of the Heavenly Father. Confident of His perfect guidance, we can rely on Him to go before us even when we are fearful and alone.

Many of us are fearful because we often feel alone and uprooted in this dark and dangerous world. The emergencies and problems we meet each day can be faced with calmness if we simply trust His leading. We may not always understand where God is taking us, but we are assured that the King knows.

LORD, I would clasp Thy hand in mine,
Nor ever murmur nor repine;
Content, whatever lot I see,
Since 'tis my God that leadeth me.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You don't need to know where you are going provided you know who you are following.
