"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."
- Ephesians 2:10

No one who is a Christian is so by chance or by some natural process. A new and better man cannot evolve from our human nature without the power of an outside force. The Scriptures say that a man by nature is "dead in trespasses and sins"; and this we know that no dead being of any kind can give itself new life.

If we are new creatures, then . . .

"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."

If we are new creatures, then "we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus." In the first birth we are created by God in Adam. In the second birth we are created in Christ Jesus, and therefore Christians also wear the image of Christ.

Christian friends, Since we are God's workmanship, we must also be desirous to have men see the results of God's workmanship in us. Indeed, that is one of the purposes of our new creation, we are to "walk in good works." Our daily "walk" must be such that others may see our good works and glorify our Father which is in heaven.

In ourselves we may see hardened ground,
Empty spaces that long to be filled;
But God sees our heart, and if we let Him start,
An image of  Christ He will build.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - Our rough edges must be chipped away to bring out the image of Christ.
