HAPPINESS  IN  THE  FAMILY

"Thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God."
- Ruth 1:16

These beautiful words were spoken by Ruth to her mother-in-law, Naomi. they were passing through a great sorrow, buT they were hapy because they felt close to each other.

This text is a formula for a happy family life. Husband and wife, parents and children, brothers and sisters, and others who come into the family circle, all should feel that they are members of one family and therefore have certain interests in common. That will make all obligations easier to fulfill, and thus make for a happy family life.

But family happiness is dependent even more on the unity of faith. Spiritual ties are strongest when they are of the same kind. "Thy God shall be my God." As no one individual can be truly happy until he has found happiness in God through Christ, so no family can be really happy until every member has found the same happiness through faith in the common Savior and that happiness is shared in the family circle.

Christian friends, Together worshiping the same God, together saved through faith in the same Savior, together obedient to the same Word, there we have the fundamental requirements of a truly happy family life.
