How would you feel if your younger brother was forever having dreams
about how he was going to be greater than you? That is what happened to
Jacob's family. The older brothers finally became so irritated that
they sold their brother Joseph into slavery to be rid of him.
Can you imagine how God might use that terrible event to save the lives of those same brothers? Well, it happened, in Gen 37-40
The God we pray to is so great and loving that He can use anything,
even evil, to bring good things to His people. Even without our

The God we pray to is so great and loving that He can use anything, even evil, to bring good things to His people. Even without our prayers the good and gracious will of God is done. But when we Christians pray the LORD'S Prayer, we ask that God would make us instruments of His will. When God gives His mercy and grace to us and through us, then broken people are made whole by His power, whole in body, mind, spirit, and soul. This wholeness bespeaks the saving will of God, who desires that all people be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. That is why He wants us to proclaim the saving Gospel.
Christian friends, What a comfort for believers to know that nothing happens apart from the will of the Heavenly Father. He is all-wise, all-knowing, all-powerful. Under His sovereign control, evil can work for good.
There is a certainty of love
That sets my heart at rest
A calm assurance for today
That what God does is best.
