"By grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is a gift of God."
- Ephesians 2:8

Somewhere I remember reading a story about a pastor who was preaching a fiery sermon on Judgment Day. He said the earth will shake and fire will pour down from heaven and trumpets will blast.  A little boy sitting next to his father asked, "Do you think they will cancel school?" The little boy missed the point. The lesson went over his head. Some people miss the point when . . .

Some people miss the point when it comes to the Christian faith. The message escapes them. Some say, "It doesn't matter what we believe, as long as we are sincere. If we are good, God will bless us. All religions lead to the same place. They just use different roads."

The Bible says, "By grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast." We are saved by faith in Jesus Christ. We cannot miss the point. The good news of the Gospel tells us that our salvation is God's free gift.

Christian friends, let's help others to understand that God's salvation is for sinners only, and that includes all of us. That's what makes God's grace so amazing.

Amazing grace, How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind but now I see.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - The first step to receiving eternal life is to admit that we don't deserve it.
