"My grace is sufficient for you; for My strength is made perfect in weakness."
- 2 Corinthians 12:9

St. Paul says, "When I am weak, then I am strong." On the surface that sounds absurd. It is a profound truth.  A person may indeed be strong when he is weak.

In his setbacks and sufferings, the apostle Paul found that to be true. Simon Peter, on the other hand, proved that a person may be weak when he thinks he is strong. Peter was forewarned of Satan's attack. Jesus told him to watch and pray. Instead of praying, he . . .

In his setbacks and sufferings, the apostle Paul found that to be true. Simon Peter, on the other hand, proved that a person may be weak when he thinks he is strong. Peter was forewarned of Satan's attack. Jesus told him to watch and pray. Instead of praying, he slept. He felt secure in his own strength. When the test came, he failed. What he said he would do, that he did not do. What he said he would not do, that he did.

The strength Peter counted on was his own. It failed him under fire. Paul, aware of his weakness, reached out for the strength of the LORD. This made him strong. " I can do all things in Him (Christ) who strengthens me." Phil. 4:13. The Christ who redeemed him dwelt in him by faith. By faith all the great ones in God's Hall of Fame "won strength out of weakness." Heb. 11:34

Christian friends, have you prayed for deliverance from something that weakens you, but deliverance hasn't come? Remember, God's grace is sufficient for you. He can transform your limitation into your heavenly advantage.

     There's advantage in our weakness,
     There is blessing in our pain;
     It is when we're feeling helpless
     That God's grace and strength sustain.
