The telephone rings in the principal's office at a school.

"Hello, this is Dunn Elementary," answers the principal.

"Hi. Jimmy won't be able to come to school all next week," replies the voice.

"Well, what seems to be the problem with him?"

We are all going on a family vacation," says the voice,

"I hope it is all right."

"I guess that would be fine," says the principal. "May I ask who is calling?"

"Sure. This is my father!"

The young suitor was determined to win the heart of the girl he wanted to marry, in spite of her rejection of his proposals a number of times.

He began what can only be called "Campaigning" and sent her a small token of his affection every day for a month to her house.

Soon, the young lady fell in love with the UPS man.

I am a middle of the road kind of guy.  I like my tea neither weak nor strong, I enjoy life without constant emotional extremes, I am often in the middle of people trying to sort out disagreements, and I like my New York steak medium-well (which, of course, is middle of the road between medium and well-done). 

Some people have a hard time finding balance in life.  One minute they are taking up some extreme sport and the next minute they don't even want to get out of bed (although in some cases  it's usually because they are hooked up to medical equipment).

I guess that's life.  We all have a hard time finding the middle ground. In fact, I bet you do below.  Just move the purple arrow to the middle of the line and click "was I close?"

One fellow was violently tearing through his Bible in a desperate search when a friend came up and asked, "Is something wrong?"

For the first time, my four-year-old daughter Kelsey was coming to my office to have me, a dental hygenist, clean her teeth.  She was accompanied by her grandmother. 

When they came in, I greeted them warmly, seated Kelsey, and, as usual, put on my gloves, goggles, and mask.

About ten minutes into the procedure, Kelsey got scared and cried, "I want my mommy!"

I quickly pulled off my mask and said, "I AM your mommy."

Without hesitation, my daughter yelled back, "Then I want my granny!"

The SPCA rescued Maggie from Manitoba's Red River flood in 1996 and brought her to British Columbia where she had two short term owners before becoming a part of the Davis household where she preferred adults over kids, picked and ate fruit from trees in the backyard, and very rarely went into water at the beach.
