Does God want us to be sure of our salvation? A person who is ot sure of his salvation cannot passess the peace that passeth all understanding. That Godwatns us to e sure of salvation is clear from the many promises of God's Word. God stands beside His Word. He is faithful to all His promises.

Though we can be sure of our salvation it is possible for us to lose the joy that God wants us to have as members of His family. So long as we walk worthily of the LORD, the Holy Spirit produces in us His blessed fruits, "love, joy, and peace." When through loss of temper, worldliness, envy, greed, pride, we grieve the Holy Spirit, we lose our Christian joy. Then our fellowship is for the time interrupted. and our joy is lost, until with a broken heart we come to the Father in self-judgment, confessing our sins.

Christian friends, Let us trust the promises of God for our salvation; and let us walk worthily of the LORD for our continued fellowship and joy.

Faint of heart and weak of knee;
But the steadfast Rock of Ages
Never trembles under me.
