Cybersalt News

Here's what's new on the Cybersalt Site each day.

Sunday greetings, everyone.

Niagara Falls, Goldstream ParkOur eldest daughter and her son returned home yesterday morning after a very enjoyable 2 week/1 week (he was here a week before she was) visit. This is a picture from one of our outings during that time. This waterfall is a 15 minute drive from Cybersalt World Headquarters. It is actually named, "Niagara Falls," but of course it's not that Niagara Falls!

Today's video share is someone else's video of "our" Niagara Falls, and Goldstream Park where it is located.

Oh look, Chicken Thursday!

chili orchestraLast night, I won the door prize at my Chamber of Commerce gathering - a $150 gift certificate to the beauty salon we were gathered at! Everybody had a good laugh, including me. After all, I actually have used a dog trimmer in the past to thin my eyebrows so I am clearly not the spa (a human one at least) type!

I know some of the women in attendance were perplexed that I had won the prize, but I later learned it was explained, "It's OK - he has a wife." And as you all know - I do have a wife!

So this was a win-win situation. I got to be the center of attention for a good laugh and Grandma Cybersalt is going to the spa!

Today's video share is a fun one. I think you will enjoy watching members of the Danish National Chamber Orchestra playing Tango Jalousie while eating the worlds hottest chili peppers

Sunday greetings, everyone.

Ladybower Reservoir Plug HoleI attended the celebration of life for my business coach and friend yesterday, and let me tell you - it was so amazing that at the end of it I felt like I didn't want to have one when I die because it could never be that good, lol!

Today's video share is the last song we sang at the service. "Ain't No Grave" is a variation of a Johnny cash song.

Oh look, Chicken Thursday!

HopeI found out today that things are going to be very different for the business side of Cybersalt when September roles around. As you know, I've been enjoying having government funded university students working for me since the beginning of the year. It has been really great on a number of levels!

With summer ending, I was considering hiring some more in the fall, but learned this week that there was no more funding available until next year, maybe. Since I have been working to grow my business, and things are coming together nicelyin that area, I decided I would take the plunge and keep one of the students on staff, at full expense to the company. I spoke to him today to talk about what that might look like for both him and me, and that's when he told me he was taking a new co-op position in September. I am excited for this new opportunity for him. He is a student exploring all the possibilities of his future life and I knew some day he'd be moving on - but I am disappointed it is so soon!

In the midst of all of these happenings I keep wondering what my business coach would think of all this, but he has been in heaven for 2 weeks, so I am being careful to continue on in the things God had him teach me and I am also trying to emulate the faith principles he lived his life by.

Today's video share isn't a video - it's just a link. This page uses artificial intelligence to find the birthplace of "notable" people and is meant purely for entertainment - so don't be surprised if you zoom in on you birthplace and are entertained about who the site thinks is notable from your home town!

Sunday greetings, everyone.

Ladybower Reservoir Plug HoleI was laying in the backyard last night, picking weeds (not pushing daisies yet!), when my phone rang. It was Ray. Ray is an alcoholic.

I hadn't heard from Ray in over a year, but as I answered the phone I groaned inside and prepared myself for another one of those calls where he, being well into a number of beers, would sloppily tell me what a f^%k up he was and how after the weekend he was going to quit drinking.

But this call was different. Ray was actually calling to catch up and to tell me that he was 8 months sober! What a nice change from the usual script since I first met him 15 years or so ago!

Ray's life story is a hard one, partly due to decisions made by others that affected his childhood and partly due to decisions he's repeatedly made to try and cope. For those of you struggling with addiction in your life, don't give up!  If Ray can be sober for 8 months, you can be too!

Today's video share is a gripping one. Angela Loucks Alexander has a powerful story an some interesting facts and she communicates them very clearly!  "Escaping the Hidden Prison of Auditory Processing Disorder" is a powerful presentation!
