"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world."
- 1 John 2:15

The Christian is enticed by the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. He is not isolated from temptation; or is he immune to it. He is exposed to all the allurements of this evil world-system. One reason he doesn't need to give in to them, however, is that God offers him something better, something more appealing. The pleasures of this world cannot begin to compare with the spiritual blessings the LORD has provided for those who love Him.

O worldly pomp and glory,
Your charms are . . .

O worldly pomp and glory,
Your charms are speak in vain!
I've heard a sweeter story;
I've found a truer gain.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - Hearts tuned in to the music of Heaven aren't bothered by the static of this world.
